Brandon is an expert blogger

So here is the deal. 3 months, 6 days, and 47 minutes after I was born, Kyra has been telling me how lame I am because I never post a blog. You may remember her from such shenanigans as, "Post a comment telling Brandon you want to see a blog from him," or "Brandon you better blog about those dang ants before I do," or "Brandon, where do you want to go to dinner tonight." Well the reason why I've come here today is to set the record straight on regarding the activity of my blogging.

I would blog several times a day, but I refrain because Kyra would feel bad about my superior blogging skills. I have the advanced blogging techniques such as Changing the font color, Blogging boldly, Italicize, and even... All THREE AT ONCE!!! But that's not all!!! I can also make symbols look like faces... ô¿ô... He's looking at you! Or she, gender is subjective in this case.

So considering Kyra's emotions here... I've decided not to overwhelm this blog with my superior beauty because than Kyra would never want to blog simply because hers cannot compare.

So now that you know the secret, I hope you will be kind to Kyra and support her blogging efforts.

If you want to comment about how my post is so great, feel free to do so.

Last week we took a much needed trip down to Bryce Canyon for the Nixon family reunion! (That's Brandon's Grandma's family...? -I'm still not quite sure.) It was a reunion to end all reunions! & I mean literally because apparently this is the last year the Nixon's will have a formal reunion, so we had to go out with a bang! After Brandon & I paid our bribe (an apple fritter & a glaze doughnut to the part time manager at the storage units we live/work at) we started our journey with our itouches fully charged and cinnamon rolls on hand...

One viewing of The Day the Earth Stood Still, 1 beef jerky sells man, 2 pit stops and 4 hours & 13 minutes later we had arrived!

& thanks to my new camera took some pretty nice photos of our fun trip!

Well some nice pictures of the scenery at least. Brandon was just not having the photo taking this particular weekend. Hence the goofy face two photos up...

& the angelic look in the restaurant...

Finally I just asked him to just smile for me because he loves me... This photo above is what we got... yeah... this is our love in a nutshell. makes me laugh every time I look at it. :)

Then i threw him in jail for being so blatantly un-photogenic!

So he threw me in jail for being way to concerned about our bloggability (yes, I was guilty).

Brandon & I decided to rent bikes one day and go mountain biking where we found this really cool tree half burnt but saved for the benefit of the wildlife. totally green and earthy, I loved it. Peace and trees baby, peace & trees.*

The bike path led us to this awesome view!

& we saw lots of "cantaloupes" (as my cute nieces & little cousin in laws would call them)

Speaking of cute nieces & cousins...

There's a few of them!

I found these girls hanging on the fence yelling at the top of their lungs trying to scare the "canatloupe" that were eating in the field. Adorable. Those cantaloupe were fearless.

Here's a few more gems from the trip...

cute kiddos!

as you can see things got a little wild! But as the saying goes what happens in Bryce, stays in Bryce... yeah?

& I'm loving the blond hair with brown bangs! it's a look that would make Cruela Di Vil green with envy!

two of my favorite guys!
all in all it was such a fantastic trip. filled with swimming, memorable talent shows, countless mafia games, a capture the flag game that just screams rematch, over priced in room movie rentals, family, diet coke, ice cream and absolutely beautiful scenery.
it just couldn't have been better.
*yes I sometimes do make rediculous comments that seriously so blessed would just love to make fun of.... & i would be honored.

Twenteen?

You know what I'll miss most about being nineteen?.......... All the teenage jokes Brandon and my brother-in-law Tyler used to make, those jokes just never (insert sarcasm here) ceased to be funny. How I'll miss those "remeber when Brittany* used to be a singer?..... oh wait that was before you're time" (which, by the way... it was not!).

yep I'll sure miss those jokes..............

Oh wait, no I won't.** :)

I am officially 20! & it was such a great birthday (more like birthday weekend)!

Complete with,

~a scavanger hunt

~roses

~Brandon calling me twenteen. :)

~Dinner with my favorite-friends-till-we-die girls!***

~Cake & ice cream with Brandon's amazing family!

~& dinner with my fam! plus, a movie with my mom and sister {my FAVORITE!} !

What a GREAT weekend! Thanks everyone for making it AWESOME!

*by Brittany i mean Brittany Spears of course. Last names are so 2007, i can't believe I am even taking the time to explain this. ;)

**by 'won't' I mean 'will say I don't miss said jokes but secretly will miss them more than a little'.

***Yay us for getting together for every birthday this year! & a special thanks to thiaphoon for their delish chocolate volcano- the real reason we all take the time to get together! haha kidding! love you girls!

24!

May 21st was Brandon's 24th birthday!!!
It was a great day! Not only was it his day off from work but he also enjoyed homemade animal shaped pancakes (elephants, lions and seals, oh my!), he got his very own ipod touch, a piano from his wonderful parents, and to top it all off we threw a improptu bowling party!
Why yes, we do party like rockstars. :)

why so sad Brandon? oh well, it's his party and he'll cry if he wants too!

I'll post pictures of the pancakes and piano later! I wish we'd gotten more of the party, I told my mom to bring her camera and she forgot, these were ones she took at the very end with her camera phone... good news though, we got our very own camera (thanks mom and Lena!)! So I'm pretty much a real deal blogger now. :) Soon to be complete with un-pixel-ated (is that even a word?) photos and everything! Can't wait! Now I just need to run to get a memory card! Whoever thought, "hey, let's sell memory cards seperately from cameras..." was a real genius. :)

HAPPY BIRTHDAY BABE! I love you!

Snow what are you looking at?!?!

I was going to entitle this blog entry, "Ode to Snowball", however I made Brandon search and search for a picture of Snowball and when he finally found one and sent it to me over MSN the picture was saved as "Snow what are you looking at" and once you see the picture i'm sure you'll understand why that just had to be the title!

.......................

Ta da! it's Snowball!*

Don't you just wanna pinch his feriociously cuddly cheeks?!?!

Anyways, I never met snowball but I have heard countless stories of his charm. But I'm going to let Brandon do the honors of telling you all Snowball stories since he was actually there to witness them. However, getting Brandon to write a blog might take some convincing, how about a little reader support?! Anyone who wants to read a blog by Brandon leave an encouraging comment! (*I think he's a bit blog shy, he feels like he's really lost his touch since his livejournal days.*)

But let's get to the real reason I'm mentioning snowball. I've wanted a cat or dog ever since we've gotten married practically. & Brandon has been a little bit reluctant about the idea until last night...

Brandon: I really miss Snowball.

Kyra: Oh babe, I'm sorry.

Brandon: It's Ok, I just don't think I've ever missed him this way before.

Kyra: aww, how long have you been feeling this way?

Brandon: Well... Since right now.

Kyra: Hahaha

Brandon: I miss the way he stretches and sleeps............

I told him I am good at stretching and sleeping, he said it just wasn't the same.

Maybe we'll be getting a little Snowball Jr. sooner than I thought! :)

* to learn more about snowball to hold you over till Brandon blogs (which could be a long wait) please visit www.snowballisdead.blogspot.com. & go to the very first entry ever posted. This is my bro- in- law Tyler's blog & really doesn't have a whole lot to do with snowball. But how many cats do you know who have blogs named after them?! :)

"We should invite him over more often, he is a riot!"

What I just don't understand is why Brandon leads such an amazingly hilarious life while I just live the boring day to day! Seriously people, it's just unfair! I have decided I need to hire a camera man to follow Brandon around because I am always too slow to catch most of these funny moments!
The other day we were leaving Fazoli's after lunch.

I was chatting about something that must have been important cuz boy was I talking up a storm!

Brandon opened the passenger door for me & I got in the car, still just chatting away.

Once I was settled, instead of closing the door, Brandon asked me to hold his drink.

I took it, still talking.

Then he asked me to hold his keys.

I took them, still rambling on.
He closed the door and opened the door to the backseat while I slowly realized I was holding the car keys.
The next thing I knew he was riding around the parking lot on his skateboard that pretty much lives in the back of his car.
I sat there laughing, keys and drink in hand, until I realized the complete bloggabilaty of this moment & began rummaging through my bag for my camera phone. Unfortuanately as most women can understand I couldn't find it in time! (ah, women & their purses! gotta love it!)

So no picture for this event but once I get that camera man on board it'll be non-stop Brandon footage!
He is hilarious! constantly making me laugh with all the ways he lives life to the fullests & makes it as fun as it can possibly be! I'm pretty sure if Brandon ever got the chance to meet homestar, homestar would think "He is a riot!"
I could also tell you the stories of the ripped jeans and the & Magical music playing computer but I'll save those for another post! (which may end up being written today! cross your fingers!)
Here's our life in pictures!
Here I am in our kitchen admiring our cups. I love our cups. So much. especially the blue mugs. I'll post a better picture of my kitchen later cuz I promised I would post apartment pictures!
speaking of which, here's an apartment picture!...

This is one of our bathrooms that will one day be painted blue! As soon as we can find some time to paint!

And here is Nick & Brandon! Mariah and I thought it was so cute, they both were sitting on the floor, indian style, & look how they are both wearing black! could friends get any bester?! :)

And finally this is a picture of what Brandon & I would rather be doing right now... Wakeboarding! That's me on Utah lake last year! Love it!

Be careful what you wish for…

Brandon had a very traumatic moment happen to him last week and I feel it must be shared…

One drab afternoon I was blandly chipping away at my work when I got a text from Brandon:

"Babe we are out of spiral mac and cheese! I don't know what to do."

Bahaha we had regular mac and cheese, but for some reason that just wouldn't do. I told him to run over to ab's to get some lunch since we live pretty much right next-door to a little drive-in but he wouldn't have it. He texted back saying…

"I'll just have some bread, with a banana* on it, and maybe some salsa… babe I'm scared."

(* note he was trying to incorporate the banana because his shins hurt way bad at his last soccer game and he was worried about his potassium level, I tried to give him one of my multi vitamins but he told me "those are woman pills." Huh, I never knew. haha)

in case you were wondering… that boy is my favorite.

I'll try to keep our cupboards better stocked from now on.

So pretty much life rocks.

Brandon is currently hating Obama's proposed budget, being awesome, making me laugh, playing soccer two times a week + basketball, and he bought a new TV his first and greatest want ever since we tied the knot. I tried to get him to let me take a picture of him hugging his TV- which of course he does regularly ;) – but he said he needed a haircut first. So that's a work in progress!

We are still super busy but we are having so much fun! I'm still working hard (or hardly working!), sleeping in on purpose, trying to figure out the sneakiest way to tan on top of the storage units (winter= a tans worst nightmare), and hating my extensions. This Saturday they are coming out. This relationship has got to end!

I told Brandon I wanted dreads a little while ago (because this girl I know has them and she looks crazy cool!).

He told me they were gross.

I said they were hot.

He told me to stop washing my hair and I'd get them… he was right. (With extensions you are only supposed to wash your hair twice a week!)

Yesterday (which a particularly awful hair day) I saw my sister and she told me I looked like I had dreads.

Be careful what you wish for!

On that same note, however…

Sunday was fast and testimony meeting in our new/awesome ward and a cute young woman got up to bare her testimony; I promise she was the happiest cutest girl in the world. I leaned over to Brandon and whispered "If only I was a young woman leader than I would be as bubbly as that girl… *exaggerated sigh*". Brandon rolled his eyes and told me I'd be happy no matter what. Later we had a meeting with Brother White, our super neat first counselor in the bishopric, where he asked us to speak in Sacrament meeting next week and then told me they had a calling for me… my name had been submitted to be the young woman's secretary! Brandon started laughing and so a tiny part of me thought it was a joke so responded with a laughing/excited "SHUT UP! REALLY?!" to my shock he said yes and then I said YES!!!!!!!!!! probably not the most appropriate response but hey, alteast he knows I'm excited about this calling! (understatement of the century! )I could barely contain my happiness but I at least made it to the parking lot before my jumping up and down with joy commenced. Did I mention that this ward rocks? It does. I am beyond excited.

Clearly I do need to be careful what I wish for and only use this power for good. I think I'll focus my wishing efforts on a new car and a million dollars next. Oh and world peace of course! J

Picture time!

These are from our nephew James' BMX race! He totally took first in his age group! I took a picture of him in all of his gear with his trophy that was practically bigger than he is but i forgot to save it! shoot! Not to worry though I bet I'll have tons more chances to get that picture! Love these two boys!

We owe it all to Pauly D.

I feel it is necessary to give a little shout out to the Salt Lake Free and Associates office! Basically this office is the very office in which our love story began! On July 3nd I reluctantly quit my job at discover card, went to an interview I'd found via the news paper at Free and Associates that very same afternoon and got the job that very night! It was quite the day! One month later after being called "kai-rah" countless times and already deciding who my office crushes were (they will always and forever remain anonymous, absolutely no exceptions.), I was sent to the binding room to add a whatsit to Pauly D's reportsit.

I need to mention that the binding room doubled as the office of our two alternating data entry guys. One of which happened to be Mr. Brandon Free. I also should mention that before this moment I had only talked to Brandon Free twice, ok three times and had some pretty strange opinions about the kid, but really who wouldn't? On one occasion Brandon was polling the office on whether or not we believed in aliens, once he clocked out of work and instead of going home came into my office to watch the corpse bride on DVD, and on another occasion he was offering me a Sacajawea penny if I could figure out what happened between Josh (the other data entry guy) and the robot. Oh, the robot, boy am I glad I didn't forget the robot, Brandon had built him out of two computer PC's for legs, a box for his stomach, and a wicker basket for his head, and his name was most likely Kevin (I say this because Brandon names most everything Kevin). This robot lived in the binding room/office until one fateful day when a loud crash was heard after Josh was seen entering the room and the robot was no more.

Any ways, I waltzed into the binding room, hands full of reports when I was greeted with a surprising, "hey Kee-rah". We are talking perfect pronunciation here. I froze and turned to face quite honestly, one of the cutest boys I had ever laid eyes on. Maybe I had never given him a close enough look because he was definitely crush worthy, tan skin, brown eyes, great hair, dressed awesome… wow. So when I was younger I had this really embarrassing habit of turning really REALLY
red
and splotchy whenever a cute boy would talk to me, I thought it was something I had grown out of but unfortunately I was gravely mistaken……………….

TO BE CONTINUED!

I wonder what will happen next

It looks like even Brandon doesn't know! J
